Introduction

Pioneering is the art of using ropes and wooden spars joined by lashings and knots to create structures such as water sluices, bridges and towers. Challenges include crossing a ravine, supplying water to your camp, or building a trebuchet to fend off invaders.

Session overview

After an initial safety briefing, participants will be given an in-depth introduction to the equipment they will be using during the session. Participants will then receive demonstration before moving on to the activity where they will be instructed throughout.
